Twenty-nine profiles reveal the exceptional impact women are having in a male-dominated industry.

The January 2020 issue of Accelerate Magazinenow available online, celebrates 29 women working around the world in the male-dominated natural refrigerants industry – and having an exceptional impact on the advancement of climate-friendly cooling and heating.

Print copies of Accelerate Magazine, published by market accelerator shecco, will be distributed at the AHR Expo in Orlando, Florida (U.S.), February 3-6, and at ATMOsphere Japan in Tokyo on February 10.

The cover story of the January issue profiles the accomplishments and challenges of women in North America, Europe, Africa, Asia-Pacific and Australia in the natural refrigerants sector of the HVAC&R industry. These women are serving a number of roles – from design engineer and sales manager to project coordinator and energy consultant – for a wide spectrum of organizations, including manufacturers, end users, NGOs and trade associations.

“Natural refrigerant-based technologies are disrupting the HVAC&R industry globally,” said Marc Chasserot, CEO of shecco and publisher of Accelerate Magazine. “Behind this wave of innovation are people like the women profiled in this issue, with brilliant and creative ideas who are designing, using or promoting natural refrigerant technologies in brand new ways to meet exciting new business opportunities.”

The January 2020 issue also features regional articles on a Hannaford retail warehouse in the U.S., Nestlé in Europe, stores using ammonia/CO2 refrigeration in South Africa, Australian supermarkets employing transcritical CO2refrigeration, Japanese retail giants Aeon and Lawson, and updates on hydrocarbons and ammonia/CO2 in Southeast Asia. Global trend articles include updates on the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol and the Global Cooling Prize, and the latest from thought leader René van Gerwen of Entropycs.

“Behind this wave of innovation are people like the women profiled in this issue, with brilliant and creative ideas who are designing, using or promoting natural refrigerant technologies in brand new ways to meet exciting new business opportunities.”
