HCFC Phase-out in Developing Countries - UNIDO ATMOsphere Technology Summit

Ákos Kőszegváry's presentation introduces the role of UNIDO and its work in relation to the Montreal Protocol. Since 1992 UNIDO has been an implementing agency of the Multilateral Fund (MLF). Reviewed in the presentation are the priorities and schedule for HCFC phase-out. Priority in given to substances with highest ODP (HCFC-141b). What is more phase out projects are supposed to maximize climate benefits. UNIDO is implementing HCFC Phase-out Management Plans in 67 countries. A number of projects adopting natural alternatives (R290 and R-717) in the refrigeration and A/C sector are ongoing.
