This workshop will address household refrigerators and freezers, window air conditioners, portable room air conditioners, residential dehumidifiers and water coolers. The purpose of this meeting is to review and update our understanding of these end-uses and the state of transition. The meeting will consider environmental benefits and barriers as well as foster dialogue between stakeholders and EPA. This is the third SNAP sector workshop, following workshops on aerosols and foams earlier this year.

The U.S. EPA is hosting a series of workshops for interested stakeholders to exchange information on the transition from ozone-depleting substances to alternatives with better overall environmental profiles. The refrigeration and air conditioning sector is the largest sector considered under the Significant New Alternatives Policy (SNAP) program and by EPA’s Vintaging Model. Because of the large size of this sector, the Agency will be hosting multiple workshops on different end-uses and applications within the refrigeration and air conditioning sector.

You must RSVP to gain access to EPA’s building for this meeting. Please RSVP to Rebecca von dem Hagen by email at vondemhagen.rebecca@epa.gov or by telephone at (202) 343-9445, by November 8, 2013.
