Secop, manufacturer of advanced compressor technologies, has joined hydrocarbons21.com to help bring awareness to their range of compressors using R600a and R290 for household and light-commercial applications.
With more than 50 years of experience in designing compressor technology, today Secop meets the increasing demand for natural refrigerants in commercial refrigeration and provides the market with solutions that combine high efficiency with low energy consumption. The company began production of its first R600a (isobutane) enabled compressor in 1993, and in 1999 it started manufacturing compressors for R290 (propane).

Danfoss Compressors GmbH , of the Danfoss Group, was acquired in 2010 by German Holdings Company AURELIUS AG based in Munich. Under this new ownership, the company name was changed to Secop GmbH. Secop still remains a long-term partner of the Danfoss Group and continues to sell its products through Danfoss and its sales networks, mainly within the light-commercial sector.
Secop is headquartered in Flensburg, Germany, where it’s largest research and development department is located. The company has three production facilities in Europe and Asia. The largest plant is situated in Zlate Moravcé, Slovakia, which serves as a logistic hub for all of Europe; whereas the factory located in Wuqing, China, covers most Asian distribution. Being strategically placed in an emerging economy has opened up new horizons for the company as well as promising market opportunities for hydrocarbons. Across all locations and sites Secop employs approximately 2100 people.
Secop aims to continuously expand their business to key global markets. In China, they are already a well established manufacturer and in light of the current developments, Secop projects significant market potential for years to come.

North and Central American markets
Secop is releasing a new series of sustainable R290 compressors for the North and Central American markets. These propane compressors are suitable for light-commercial applications such as bottle coolers and ice cream cabinets. Operating at full LBP to MBP conditions they can also be used in professional kitchen freezers, display cabinets, dispensers, vending machines, etc. Full programme for propane compressors.
