A recently opened Lidl market in the north of Germany implements a new combined heating and cooling technology. The integrated system combines waste heat recovery and a hydrocarbon refrigeration system to cut CO2 emissions by 30%. The leading retailer is planning to equip about 200 new stores with R290 technology by 2012.
