Minus40 hydrocarbon refrigerant is R290, a pure refrigerant grade of propane. It can and is already being used in medium and low temperature refrigeration and air conditioning systems as an alternative to HCFC-R22. Its application range covers supermarket cabinets, ice-cream display cabinets, heat pumps, and air conditioning systems.
Minus 40, the natural and safe product from the Australian-based company HyChill is a pure hydrocarbon refrigerant with a single molecule and no temperature glide. It is suitable for transport refrigeration and static cool room applications. The product is fully compatible with most refrigeration systems, including valves and oils, both mineral and synthetic.
