The changes were implemented throughout 2020.

Nidec Global Appliance, a division of Nidec Group, has announced the completion of a business reorganization, creating three new business units: commercial appliances, HVAC and home appliances.

The structural changes were implemented throughout 2020 with “the goal to operate with a more dedicated focus on the specific market segments in which the division is present, increasing speed and customer focus,” the company said in a statement.

“This reorganization into three business units was fundamental to maximize our operation, with a focus totally dedicated to our customers and their market segments,” said Valter Taranzano, CEO of Nidec Global Appliance, which has headquarters in Joinville, Brazil, and Pordenone, Italy. “Our vision is to be the main partner to residential and commercial appliances industries and HVAC systems providers.”

The new structure is detailed in the recently launched company profile, available here, which also brings institutional information and an overview of Nidec Global Appliance’s products and brands.

The Nidec Global Appliance division was created after the corporation acquired Brazilian compressor manufacturer Embraco, and several other subsidiaries, in 2019, combining them under one brand.

Embraco is known for its propane (R290) products, including a full range of compressors and Plug n’ Cool, a pre-charged sealed system designed as a drop-in solution for beverage dispensers, reach-ins (air or water cooled), vending machines and cold rooms.

Three new specialized units

After the restructuring, the commercial unit manufactures compressors and condensing units for applications like supermarkets, convenience stores, restaurants, laboratories and hospitals.

The HVAC unit manufactures motors and components for both residential and commercial HVAC applications.

The home appliances unit is dedicated to manufacturing compressors for domestic refrigerators, and motors for washing machines, dryers and dishwashers.

“Nidec Global Appliance’s brands and products differentiation is based on our ability to accelerate innovation and anticipate market trends regarding energy efficiency and miniaturization,” Taranzano added. “For that, we count on approximately 600 engineers, and nine research and development centers around the world, all working in partnership with universities and constant co-development with our customers.”
