ARBS 2020 Announces New Digital Offering to Compensate for Cancelled Event

Air Conditioning, Refrigeration Building Services (ARBS), based in Melbourne, Australia, will continue to cater to its exhibitors and stakeholders with a new digital offering. This will give in-depth digital coverage of its exhibitors’ products and services in the absence of ARBS’ canceled May event and in advance of its next physical event in February 2021.

In an email ARBS said that the digital offering will allow exhibitors to upload more up-to- date and in depth-product information, videos, and images. This will provide a “better connection between exhibitors and customers.”

ARBS said that it will give more than 300 exhibitors “a unique vehicle in which to showcase their latest goods and services whilst reassuring their customers they are still open for business.”

Given the current uncertainty caused by COVID-19, ARBS says that this digital offering is a “great interim option for visitors to use if they want to know more about ARBS 2021 exhibitors before the show.”

The ARBS exhibition, originally scheduled for May 19-21, 2020, will now take place on February 15-17, 2021 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. Further details about the postponement can be found on the R744 website.

The rescheduled conference will feature the same itinerary but will include an expanded line-up of over 300 exhibitions. A full list of exhibitors can be found here, and prospective exhibitors can register here.

The seminar program is also scheduled to take place in 2021. It will include a seminar by Patrick McInerny, Director of the International Ozone Protection and Synthetic Greenhouse Gas Section, Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment.

“The session will provide information on the regulation of refrigerants, initiatives to improve energy performance of installed equipment and international developments, including CFC-11 emissions and energy efficiency,” says the ARBS website.

Additionally, there will be a seminar on cyber security by Travis Chehab, technical director and cyber security lead at the Australia and New Zealand branch of Architecture, Engineering, Consulting, Operations, and Maintenance (AECOM).

“This presentation will discuss how critical infrastructure and operational technology are emerging as accessible and attractive targets to malicious actors and will consider threats to modern buildings from a security perspective,” says the ARBS website.
