2014 will see several exciting conferences, trade shows and seminars around the globe, providing opportunities to showcase and discover latest innovations and trends in hydrocarbon-based refrigeration and air conditioning. hydrocarbons21.com will be reporting from a number of the key events, providing you with up-to-date information on the latest technology developments, market and policy trends.

North America

2014 ASHRAE Winter Conference, New York, USA, 18 - 22 January: The Conference has a building-oriented theme with papers and presentations related to building information systems; environmental health; international design; HVAC&R applications and systems; and, of course, tall building performance.

AHR Expo 2014, New York, USA, 21- 23 January: Returning to New York City for the first time in six years, AHR Expo 2014 is the go-to place to see, learn and get inspired by the latest HVACR technology and more sustainable solutions for the built environment. Over 1,900 exhibitors and 55,000 attendees from all 50 states and 130 countries will be at the 66th edition of the world’s largest HVACR industry event.

11th IEA Heat Pump Conference, Montreal, Canada, 12 - 16 May: The IEA Heat Pump Programme operates under the International Energy Agency, as a non-profit organisation where member-country participants cooperate in projects in the field of heat pumps and related heat pumping technologies such as air conditioning and refrigeration.

NRA Show 2014, Chicago, USA, 17 - 20 May: Every year, over the course of four days, more than 1,800 suppliers and tens of thousands of buyers come together to make lasting connections that drive business profitability and shape the future of the restaurant, foodservice and hospitality industry.

FMI Connect - The Global Food Retail Experience, Chicago, USA, 10 - 13 June: From consumer goods to capital goods, fresh produce to fresh ideas, 900 of the world’s leading suppliers will be at FMI Connect to showcase their latest – in additiong to which there will be a full educational program and plenty of networking opportunities. Anyone who is in food retail will find four days at FMI Connect invaluable to their business.

ATMOsphere America 2014, San Francisco, USA, 18 - 19 June: The 3rd annual ATMOsphere America 2014 conference will take place in San Francisco for the first time. The meeting place for industry experts to discuss natural refrigerant trends, the latest technologies and regulatory issues in North America, the event targets around 250 decision makers including leading retailers, suppliers, associations and more.

South America

AHR Expo-Mexico 2014, Monterrey, Mexico, 23 - 25 September: The 2014 event promises to build on the success of the previous AHR Expo-Mexico, which established several all-time records for as the largest show ever in Mexico. The Show is expecting to continue it's record growth as it moves to a new venue for the Show, Centro Banamex, in Mexico City over the dates of September 23-25, 2014. Over 450 companies are expected.

Asia

HVAC&R JAPAN 2014, Tokyo, Japan, 28 - 31 January: The key phrase for HVAC&R JAPAN 2014 will be “Looking into the Future of Temperature Technologies.” Based on this theme, the event will seek to present a new future vision for heating, ventilating, air-conditioning and refrigerating technologies, demonstrating how they can contribute to the realisation of innovative energy use and an environmentally-conscious society.

ATMOsphere Asia 2014 – Technology & Innovation, Tokyo, Japan, 3 - 5 February: Having always been a pioneering advocate in the field of natural refrigerants, Japan is the ideal location for the first-ever ATMOsphere Asia Conference. This conference aims to support the uptake of leading natural refrigerant technologies from all over Asia, and bring international suppliers to the region. ATMOsphere Asia will serve as a forum for exchanges between leading end-users, suppliers, academics and government representatives.

48th Supermarket Trade Show 2014 (SMTS 2014), Tokyo, Japan, 12 - 14 February: The Supermarket Trade Show in Japan is the leading international annual trade show targeting supermarket buyers. Organised by Japan’s largest supermarket association, the 20134 is set to be event bigger than 2013, when show featured 1379 exhibitors from 14 countries.

ACREX India 2014, New Delhi, India, 27 Feb – 1 March: ACREX is the largest international show in South Asia on air conditioning, refrigeration and building services. This conference is a platform for key players in the fast-emerging HVAC&R industry to converge and discuss mega trends in building design, as well as showcase their latest products, technology & innovation.

China Refrigeration 2014, Beijing, China, 9 - 11 April: This exhibition, with a successful 20-year history, is organised by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Beijing Sub-council, Chinese Association of Refrigeration, China Refrigeration and Air-conditioning Industry Association, and has been certificated by the International Association of Exhibition Industry (UFI) and Foreign Commercial Service of the US Department of Commerce (US FCS).

FOOMA JAPAN 2014, Tokyo, Japan, 10 - 13 June: FOOMA JAPAN is a showcase of products, technologies, and services for food processing and related operations. The exhibitors represent every conceivable link in the value chain for food-related equipment. Annual attendance is large, and the range of exhibits broadens further with each exhibition. Excellent opportunities for business-to-business interchange are a FOOMA JAPAN hallmark.

11th IIR Gustav Lorentzen - International Conference on Natural Working Fluids, Hangzhou, China, 31 August - 2 September: The IIR’s Gustav Lorentzen conferences are acclaimed as the leading cutting-edge series of events covering all natural refrigerants. The event will provide an update on the increasing replacement of CFC, HCFC and HFC refrigerants with natural refrigerants within the refrigeration, air-conditioning and heat-pump industry, and a unique opportunity for knowledge exchange.

Europe

The ACR Show, Birmingham, United Kingdom, 11-13 February: The ACR Show is the dedicated event in the UK for the air conditioning and refrigeration industry. The 2014 event will take place in Hall 9 at the NEC in Birmingham. Also taking place at the exhibition on the second evening is the prestigious ACR News Awards.

EuroShop 2014, Düsseldorf, Germany, 16 - 20 Feb: The Who’s Who of the industry will be gathering at EuroShop 2014 - The World’s Leading Retail Trade Fair, organized in Düsseldorf, Germany. Being staged for the 18th time by Messe Düsseldorf together with the EHI Retail Institute as sponsor, EuroShop will again be for the retail industry what it has been for years: the engine for ideas, innovations, solutions, contacts and business. More than 190 companies will be exhibiting products in the "Refrigeration cabinets, frozen food display cabinets, cooling logistics" category.

Mostra Convegno Expocomfort 2014, Milano, Italy, 18 Mar - 21 March: The biennial MCE 2014 ties in with four thematic areas: Heating, Cooling, Water and Energy. MCE is a platform for showcasing the excellence of the most advanced technologies in HVAC, plumbing and sanitary-ware industries, and renewable energy to a diverse and highly specialised audience coming from all over the world. MCE will be held at the Fiera Milano.

Hotelympia, London, UK, 28 April – 1 May: A uniquely social environment, Hotelympia brings together the broadest range of future trends, fresh talent and new ideas to help the UK foodservice and hospitality industry push the boundaries in quality, innovation and sustainability.

Chillventa 2014, Nuremberg, Germany, 14 - 16 Oct 2014: Chillventa shows the latest trends, innovations, products and services for refrigeration, insulation, automation, air conditioning, ventilation and heat pumps, all in one place. The development of the concept for this trade fair first organised in 2008 has been decisively supported by an alliance of experts from the industry, wholesale trade, professional associations and training institutions.
