The International Trade Fair for Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, Ventilation and Heat Pumps Chillventa takes place from 9-11 October 2012 in Nuremberg, Germany. Here is an extract of some of the companies displaying hydrocarbon products that we spotted on the trade floor. Find also the photos of products and the company booths in our image gallery at the bottom of this article.

AGRAMKOW:
A leading company in refrigerant charging systems and functional test equipment for refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump industries, AGRAMKOW showcased many products, including their PRO-VAC, which allows an individually programmable evacuation process, the SARAtronic charging station and the EMAC unique Massflow based charging station.

Baltimore Aircoil Company: On show at the BAC stand was the new CXVE evaporative condenser.

Danfoss: on display were compressors for R290, including a heat pump ready R290 scroll compressor and R290 SC18MNX Secop compressors for medium temperature applications. With extensive experience in working with hydrocarbon refrigerants, every Danfoss component complies with the requirements for explosive atmospheres (94/9/CE) directive ac ATEX zone2/ category 3, and the requirements of the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) (97/23/EC) fluid group I.

Dorin: Leading Italian compressor manufacturer Dorin advertised their HEX_ATEX Range suitable for use with hydrocarbons. Featuring electrical components conforming to directive ATEX 94/9/CE, and PTC sensor for discharge temperature control as standard.

Frascold: the leading Italian compressor manufacturer introduced several new product ranges at Chillventa 2012, and displayed their ATEX compressors for use with hydrocarbons.

GALLILEO TP: On display at the GALLILEO TP stand was the Frigus K HC automatic evacuation and charging station, available for use with hydrocarbon gases, which combines operational safety and an extremely high level of accuracy. It has a charging speed of up to 40 g/s.

Linde: Refrigerant suppliers Linde was present at Chillventa to showcase its range of high quality natural refrigerants, including R290 (Propane) and R600a (Isobutane), and to highlight the technical support they can offer, both in terms of safety and handling guidelines and gas properties and environmental impact.

Mayekawa: Mayekawa actively promotes the "Natural Five" refrigerants, and at Chillventa 2012 had several natural refrigeration solutions on display.

SETTALA GAS: With over 40 years of experience in the production of pure hydrocarbons SETTALA GAS produces a range of gases including the refrigerants R290, R600a and R1270 for use in domestic refrigerators and freezers, supermarket cooling units and displays and other commercial and industrial applications.

PARKER/Sporlan: Parker Hannifin Ltd/Parker presented a broad offering of components for the refrigeration and air conditioning industry, including components for natural refrigerants.

A-GAS: Bristol-based refrigerant supplier A-GAS presented their natural refrigerant gases ammonia, hydrocarbons and carbon dioxide.

Bitzer: With over 75 years of experience, leading compressor manufacturer Bitzer displayed their 4HEP-18P semi-hermetic reciprocating compressor optimised for R290.

Cubigel: With a high cooling capacity and COP, several R290 Cubigel compressors were exhibited, including the NLY60RA, the NLY90LA and the NPT12FSC variable speed compressor, which is at the top of the efficiency range. R290 compressors can save up to 50% in energy consumption when compared to standard R4041 series.

Embraco: With a wide range of R290 compressors, on show at the embraco stand were propane EM2X 1121U, FFU 130UAX and NT217OU compressors, developed for reach in coolers, air conditioners and merchandisers.

ESK Schultze: Displayed at the ESZ Schultze booth were propane multi suction line accumulators, with a maximum operating pressure of 25 bar at a maximum temperature of 100°C.

GEA Bock: At the large GEA booth semi-hermetic compressors for hydrocarbons were on display. The compressors feature: heat protection thermostat and oil sump as standard, special oil change, and motor protection MP10 for installation in the switch cabinet.

GTS: Specialising in the production and distribution of pure gases including propane (R290), isobutene (R600a), propylene and other mixtures for use in the cold industry, the company displayed some hydrocarbon products.

HKT GOELDNER: In addition to the R290 compressor on display HKT GOELDNER has developed an R290 brine/water heat pump featuring an electronic expansion valve and stepless capacity adjustment through an inverter controlled compressor. This technology can lead to energy savings of over 20%.

Rivacold: The company showcased their R290 compressor.

Shrieve: The company offers an extensive range of ZEROL synthetic lubricants for application in stationary refrigeration and air conditioning systems employing a wide variety of refrigerants, including hydrocarbons.

SRS Frigadon: Frigadon has developed a range of hydrocarbon chillers covering capacities between 10-600kW. Low temperature freezer chillers up to 125kW at -31°C are also available. On display was a natural refrigerant R1270 packaged chiller.

TECO S.R.L: The company featured their R290 plug-in units for cabinets that use the Secop SC15CNX compressor. The range has warm gas defrosting that makes it possible to reduce energy consumption, and uses of motorised fans and low-consumption compressors.

Viessmann: As in 2012 the company presented the R290 EVO-COOL refrigeration units employing microchannel heat exchangers, with a high corrosion resistance, a clear weight reduction (of up to 30%), lower capacity (up to 50%), and stable geometry.

Zanotti: Italian refrigeration expert presented its R1270 - Propylene, wall monoblock, with water condensation and a semi-hermetic compressor as well as a R290 ceiling monoblock with twin compressors.
