Manufacturers, trade associations and universities active in using and researching ammonia as a refrigerant have expressed their support for a wider use of natural refrigerants by signing up to a statement affirming the ecological, economic, and social potential of natural working fluids towards climate negotiators. Join them today!

Companies, associations, and universities from Australia, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Guatemala, Italy, Japan, Macedonia, Malaysia, Norway, Serbia, Spain, South Africa, Sweden, and the United States of America have added their voice already to THENATURALVOICE to emphasise their support for natural refrigerants worldwide. The statement, drafted as a response to a large number of messages received from individuals and organisations affirming the potential of ammonia, carbon dioxide and hydrocarbons, will be handed over to climate negotiators meeting in Egypt next month and in Copenhagen in December.

It calls upon national governments to acknowledge the potential of natural refrigerants to address global direct greenhouse gas emissions, to remove inappropriate legislative barriers and restrictions impeding their widespread use, and for non-monetary and financial support to enhance research into the most suitable applications for each natural refrigerant. Most importantly, THENATURALVOICE urges decision makers to facilitate the knowledge transfer from developed to developing countries to fully exploit natural refrigerants’ ecological, economic, and social potential

30+ supporting organisations

The statement, released on 25 September, has been signed by more than 30 multinationals, suppliers, industry associations, and research institutes, among them SANYO, Johnson Controls, GEA Group, Mayekawa, Grundfos, the International Institute of Ammonia Refrigeration, and eurammon.

To make THENATURALVOICE grow stronger, further support is strongly encouraged. No matter if your organisation is already actively driving the market for natural working fluids or if you just want to express your consent with the stated aim to support the opportunities ammonia and other non-fluorinated gases provide, please send your organisation’s name and logo to speakup@thenaturalvoice.org.
