The show’s management will announce by October 15 whether to hold the event next March.
Following a long list of trade show and conference cancellations due to COVID-19 in 2020, the AHR Expo, one of the largest and longest-running HVAC&R trade shows in the world, has announced the postponement of its January 25-27, 2021 event in Chicago, Illinois (U.S.).
In the email announcement, AHR Expo Show Management said that AHR Expo and its co-sponsors, ASHRAE and AHRI, “continue to explore the feasibility of hosting the event March 15-17, 2021.” A final decision regarding the in-person hosting of the 2021 AHR Expo will be announced on or before October 15, 2020. “We remain optimistic as we continue to investigate feasibility,” said AHR Expo Show Management.
“Over the last several months we have had countless meetings to investigate all possible avenues that lead us to a safe and successful show in Chicago,” said AHR Expo Show Management. “While we must take into account the barriers for allowances within the state of Illinois and the city of Chicago that we cannot control, we will continue to explore every possibility in the next month until we make a final determination.”
AHR Expo conducted a survey that indicated that nearly 80% of exhibitor and attendee participants preferred moving the event from January to the proposed March dates.
The venue for the January event, McCormick Place, and Choose Chicago, an organization dedicated to bringing visitors to Chicago, “have expressed their support for the new March dates as well,” said the show organizer.
In March, AHR Expo offered technicians tips on how to stay safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.
