Plug-In Norge specializes in R290 and R600 plug-in refrigeration cabinets, complementing Arneg’s hydrocarbon line.

Arneg Nordic, the Scandinavian division of Italian OEM Arneg Group, has purchased 70% of the shares of Norwegian plug-in cabinet specialist Plug-In Norge AS (previously called Vibocold Plug-In Norge AS). With the acquisition, Plug-In Norge becomes a part of Arneg Group.

“Arneg Nordic welcomes the dedicated and well-known Plug-In Norway team to Arneg Group,” said Niklas Rindhagen, deputy managing director for Arneg Nordic. “For Arneg Nordic the cooperation with Plug-In Norway is a natural development on the path to continue the scope of products and customer service in Norway.”

Per Otto Gjertsen (managing director, Plug-In Norge), Ole Fredrik Eide (product & marketing director), and Vidar Bakken (sales director) together retain the remaining 30% of the Plug-In Norge shares.

Plug-In Norge was founded in 2015. The company, which specializes in medium and low temperature plug-in display cabinets, uses only propane (R290) and isobutane (R600) in its products. It is already a distributor of Arneg Nordic and Oscartielle equipment.  “By choosing these solutions, we and our customers are helping to influence the environment in a positive direction!” says Plug-In Norge on its website

Apart from food and beverage cabinets, Plug-In Norge’s product range includes flower and waste coolers. The company also offers servicing and maintenance of equipment.

Founded in 1963, Multinational Arneg Group is headquartered in Italy and specializes in commercial refrigeration. The group designs, manufactures and installs more than 20 lines of plug-in R290 display cases for supermarkets. It started using R290 in 2011, and has produced over 8,000 of these units.

“We are sure that HCs used in limited and safety quantities, are the best refrigerant currently existing,” Pierluigi Schiesaro, R&D Director of Arneg, said earlier this year.

Plug-In Norge, located in Tönsberg south of Oslo, has eight employees and a turnover of 120 million NOK ($13.34 million US) in 2018.

“We at Plug-In Norge are excited to continue to develop innovative plug-in solutions for the Norwegian market as a part of the Arneg family,” said Gjertsen.

“Our experienced team at Plug-In Norge will remain in place to run the day to day business in Norway and together with our colleagues at Kelvin AS we will offer our customers access to the widest portfolio of products, services and expertise within the commercial refrigeration business in Norway,” Gjertsen added.

“With refrigeration products and services that makes every day more easy for the customer, and more energy friendly for our common planet, we all look forward to meet the high expectations from our existing and new clients,” Arneg’s Rindhagen said.
