This week (10 April) Nidec GA Compressors (formerly Secop) showcased its new propane-based heat pump compressor at the China Refrigeration, held on 9-11 April at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre.

At the expo Nidec was honoured alongside other HVAC&R companies with an ‘Innovation Award’ for the NLU8.8DN propane heat pump compressor

The newly released propane reciprocation compressor is aimed at the residential water heater heat pump market.

It is low-noise and low-vibration and requires less complex internal heat pump piping than other such models.

It has a high coefficient of performance with 1 kWh of input creating 4.5 to 5 kWh output in heating capacity.
