R290 split AC heads to Grenada

Grenada's National Ozone Unit (NOU) is making six energy efficient split air conditioners available to end users for demonstration purposes.

The deadline to apply for one of these energy efficient R290 AC units (12,000 BTU and 18,000 BTU cooling capacity) is this Friday 30^th March 2018.

This demonstration project is a National Ozone Unit (NOU), part of the Grenadian Energy Division of the Ministry of Finance and Energy, and is in conjunction with the global programme “Cool Contributions fighting Climate Change”.

The global programme, implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft fuer Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and funded by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB) as part of the International Climate Initiative (IKI), aims to evaluate the energy performance of R-290 units in different places throughout the world.

The global programme is not just tackling natural refrigerant air-conditioning uptake. It is also trying to increase the availability of refrigeration appliances that use R600a and R290.
