Despite Hurricane Irma., the 2017 Energy and Store Development Conference will take place in in Orlando, Fla., starting September 24, as planned.
Hurricane Irma’s destructive force raised some questions about whether the 2017 FMI Energy & Store Development Conference — slated for September 24-27 in Orlando, Fla. at the Hilton Bonnet Creek — would take place.
Fortunately, the conference, which in part focuses on natural refrigerant-based technology, is still scheduled as planned.
The event highlights energy efficiency and best practices in the equipment side of the food retail industry. Over 600 directors, managers and vice presidents in energy, refrigeration and store development at supermarket companies are expected to attend.
Conference features relevant to natural refrigerants include: a refrigeration roundtable, a session dedicated to the safe use of hydrocarbon refrigerants a deep-dive into Environmental Protection Agency regulations, a general session on alternative refrigeration case studies (including Paul Anderson of Target, Harrison Horning of Hannaford Supermarkets and Michael Lehtinen of Heatcraft), the EPA GreenChill awards presentation among other topics.
