For the first time, hydrocarbon refrigerants – seen as the continent’s ‘rising stars’ – will have a dedicated session at the ATMOsphere Europe conference, taking place this year in Berlin.

ATMOsphere Europe, a world-leading natural refrigerant conference taking place this year in Berlin on 25-27 September, will for the first time have a case study session dedicated specifically to hydrocarbon technologies.

Hydrocarbon refrigerants such as propane and isobutane – seen as the ‘rising stars’ of Europe – are well-suited to a wide range of applications and will grow even further if charges limit are increased as expected. Hydrocarbons’ rise to fame will be reflected in the first-ever ATMOsphere Europe session solely dedicated to these refrigerants, during which several manufacturers will showcase their latest projects and technologies.

Technology case studies from industry leaders such as Tecumseh, Embraco, CAREL, Eliwell and Huayi Compressor Barcelona will be presented during the session, to be held on the second day of the conference.

Furthermore, during the food retail panel on the last day of the conference, Boots – the UK’s foremost pharmacy chain – will present their natural refrigerant journey, from feasibility work on systems based on natural refrigerants such as propane/propylene and CO2, to various pilot projects that are being developed.
