The California Air Resources Board will hold a stakeholder workshop about the state’s new plan to reduce HFC consumption at the ATMOsphere America conference.
In March 2017, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) formally adopted its ‘Short-lived Climate Pollutant Reduction Strategy’, also known as the SLCP Plan, aiming to reduce 40% of HFCs used in refrigeration and air conditioning equipment by 2030. CARB will hold a stakeholder workshop on the issue at the ATMOsphere America conference, in San Diego on 7 June.
The workshop is an opportunity for CARB officials to hear from natural-refrigerant technology stakeholders about how the planned HFC reductions can be achieved. Opportunities for natural refrigerant-based technologies to replace HFCs will be the main topic of discussion, as well as the advantages of natural refrigerants and how to overcome obstacles to their adoption.
The feedback received at the workshop will help to update CARB’s Refrigerant Management Plan, which is to be revised later this year.
