The ActiveGreen label represents the company's commitment to sustainability in all stages of production. Starting from the design phase, in combination with precision controllers and highly efficient refrigeration components, Liebherr is able to offer refrigeration units with best-in-class energy efficiency, even under the tough demands posed by professional use. All of Liebherr’s European manufacturing sites are certified to the international environmental management standard ISO 14001.
Domestic Appliances division
Since 1954, the Domestic Appliances product division manufactures refrigerators and freezers in Germany, Austria, Bulgaria and Malaysia for private and commercial use. Every day more than 7,000 appliances leave Liebherr’s various production plants.

Liebherr was the first manufacturer to have changed over to environmentally friendly refrigerants propane (R290) and isobutene (R600a) for its entire range of refrigerators and freezers for commercial use. Due to the changeover to hydrocarbons, an even greater energy efficiency can be obtained.
