The biennial Gustav Lorentzen Conference represents a golden opportunity to bring together HVAC&R experts to learn about technological developments and new trends in the refrigeration industry using natural refrigerants. The two-day conference will take place from 31 August to 2 September 2014 in Hangzhou in southeast China. Registrants can benefit from an early fee until 10 August 2014.

Jointly organised by the International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR), the Chinese Association of Refrigeration (CAR) and the Zhejiang University, the 11th Gustav Lorentzen Conference is a forum where participants have the opportunity to learn about, and discuss, the latest developments related to the use of CO2, ammonia, hydrocarbons, water and air as refrigerants in different application areas including commercial and industrial refrigeration, indirect cooling and heat transfer and heat exchangers. The 2014 keynote topics will include:

  • State of the art of refrigerants today and in the future
  • An analysis of recent ammonia incidents in China
  • Safety considerations for natural refrigerants
  • Progress in international standards for refrigerants

How to register?

Online registration for the conference is already open and those that register and pay before 10 August 2014 can benefit from a lower registration fee.

Keynote presentations 10th Gustav Lorentzen

Alongside keynote presentations from Professor Pega Hrnjak and GEA Refrigeration’s David Bostock, the 10th Gustav Lorentzen conference, organised in Delft, the Netherlands, featured the latest research on ejector technologies, heat pumps, and reducing the energy consumption for CO2 supermarkets through integrated heating and cooling.

About Gustav Lorentzen

The IIR’s acclaimed Gustav Lorentzen conferences are named after Professor Gustav Lorentzen, who in the late 1980s rediscovered how CO2 could be used as a refrigerant in heating and cooling applications, developing the modern thermodynamic transcritical cycle that led to re-invention of CO2 cooling technology.
