In the first few months of 2014, hydrocarbons21.com reported from many of the leading HVAC&R trade fairs organised around the world, including the 2014 AHR Expo in New York, and the Supermarket Trade Show 2014 in Tokyo. During these events our reporters shot a number of exclusive videos with leading natural refrigerant technologies providers, including AHT Cooling Systems and Emerson Climate Technologies, who below present their hydrocarbon expertise and solutions. A wide variety of R290 and R600a products were on show at the 2014 AHR Expo and SMTS trade fairs in the US and Japan, including supermarket cabinets, compressors, condensing units, and charging equipment. Unlike the European market for hydrocarbon refrigerants, which is relatively well-established, Japan and the US represent newer markets with significant growth potential. As more and more end-users decide to invest in climate-friendly refrigeration solutions, and regulatory barriers are overcome, investment in hydrocarbons is predicted to increase rapidly in both of these countries.

Reinhold Resch, Head of research and Development at AHT Cooling Systems talks about two of the company’s environmentally-friendly, glass door cabinets refrigerated by 150g of R290, which can be used for cooling and chilling purposes, and for deep freezing.

Moni IP, from AHT Cooling Systems Asia compares the performance of the company’s R290 plug-in cabinet, MIAMI, compared to a traditional cabinet. Whilst the AHT hydrocarbon cabinet uses 4.9 kW in 24 hours, a traditional closed cabinet would use 39.2kW in 24hours.
