UFO: Danfoss adds energy-efficient compressors

With the UFO series the leading Danish supplier Danfoss has now added its market-leading range of R600a compressors for household refrigerators to the product database on hydrocarbons21.com.

The UFO series includes six different models (and some connector variants) that combine highest efficiency with lowest noise levels. Moreover, the isobutane compressors exceed even the most stringent energy requirements for high-class refrigerators and freezers, including for A++ appliances.

The optimization process of the by then already class-leading models started again in 2003 when Danfoss set off to achieve another 10% energy consumption reduction. During the development phase of just 7 months and an Ultra Fast Optimisation of appliances, Danfoss modified the muffler and moved the outside connectors, optimised the motor, the pump and gas flow to present a range of compressors matching different energy classes A, A+ and A++.

Since then, Danfoss has been striving to continuously improve its current models to keep up with the rapid pace in the industry and offer the most energy-efficient units available. Today, the models for 220-240V 50 Hz operation offer an optimised solution for Low Back Pressure applications, with the evaporating temperature ranging from -10 to -35°C, and the maximum condensing temperature being at 60°C.
